In the past Valencia wasn't a turistic city but today, after the work on two important projects, Valencia is one of the hottest destination in Europe for short city break. The City of Arts and Sciences was one of the projects, housing an eclectic range of visitor attractions, an ensemble of five areas in the dry riverbed of the now-diverted River Turia, designed by Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava, an impressive example of contemporary architecture. The second project was the America's Cup, the world's biggest and most prestigious yachting event, hosted in Valencia in 2007 and it's officially announced that it would be the host city for the 33rd America's Cup in 2009 too. Situated on the Costa Brava and with a mediterranean climate, Valencia is the perfect city for a sea holiday. The vibrant nightlife in 'Barrio del Carmen' district and the traditional dish, the paella, make a trip in Valencia unforgettable. ![]() Photo: Comparior.com More photos of Valencia?
